Dimensions

Track your life across different time scales

What are Dimensions?

In Grid Diary, Dimensions (formerly "Categories") define the time scale of your journaling. Unlike traditional diaries that only focus on daily entries, Grid Diary helps you zoom out to see the bigger picture.

You can set up journals for different dimensions:

  • Daily: For everyday details, habits, and gratitude.
  • Weekly: For weekly reviews, planning, and summary.
  • Monthly: For month-end reflections and goal tracking.
  • Yearly: For big-picture resolutions and annual reviews.

How It Works

When creating or editing a journal, you can assign it to a specific dimension.

  • A Daily Journal will appear in the Daily view of your timeline.
  • A Weekly Journal will prompt you for entries at the end of each week.

This multi-dimensional approach brings the GTD (Getting Things Done) methodology into your journaling practice, helping you break down long-term goals into actionable daily steps.
